In order to be given certification as a forklift driver, you need to undergo training on an industrial-powered forklift, or lift truck. General Qualifications

Telescopic Forklifts
Telescopic forklift models are outfitted with a pronged lift on an arm that extends over the top of the truck providing versatility and great height. The crane, or arm, is referred to as a telescopic boom. The boom enables the operator to raise the load to great heights while maintaining a high degree of control. Regular forklifts aren't able to move the load towards and away from the forklift cab, while a telescopic forklift can allow that movement. The telescopic forklift is usually used in construction and agriculture. It is better for applications where greater control and lift is needed.
A forklift carton clamp attachments are recommended in situations requiring high volume carton handling. The attachment has arm pads with four way reversible rubber linings which enable the operator to use uniform clamping force when picking up a cargo. It is available with a backrest which protects the cargo from damage.
A slip sheet attachment fits onto a slip sheet forklift. It is used for storing systems that don't utilize pallets. The attachment clamps onto the slip sheet and pulls it onto the forks on the forklift. This kind of system is handy for intra-corporate deliveries and for overseas shipments.
A man basket is a lift platform meant particularly to hoist staff. The basket attaches to the forklift forks, held in with a strap or chain that is to be secured directly to the forklift carriage.
